10 Benefits of Getting up Early

The beauty and quietness of morning can inspire anyone, though, morning is just a time of the day and every time has its own beauty: morning has something different; something special. People who get up early know this difference and, therefore they never compromise on it. Morning in a sense is a time to appreciate and praise nature and its beauties and to thank God for creating it all for us: morning dew, chirping of birds, fresh air and spectacular view of sun rise all present perfect environment to start your day.

People who get up early know how much extra they are gaining from their day and they never make any compromise on it. Although some professions do require night watch which becomes logical but otherwise staying up all the night is a downright bad treatment of your body and soul.

We know that whenever we tried to against nature's laws we have suffered great so those people who favor staying up late at night and getting up late I just want to ask them that can you present better proofs against nature. Birds, animals and insects all wake up early except owl and bat:D They are never short of time and we are always. Although most of us are involved in multitasking but still our goals are unsolved and our dreams unattained.

Best time for yourself The expectations and responsibilities which we have to fulfill do not give us time to enjoy ourselves. For most of the people day time is so busy that they can not spare time for their personal grooming and recreation. At the same time their are so many roles that we portray: mother, sister, brother, father, friend, neighbor, classmate, and/or teacher etc. There should have to be a time when you are yourself and you don't need to fulfill any role or responsibility. The solitude of early morning can be best to enjoy yourself and to be free of any worries and responsibilities.

This spare time can be spent in enjoying hobbies for which we can not take out time in any other part of the day. If you will get up early you can enjoy reading, writing, playing, swimming, internet surfing, or any other hobby. If you have taken proper sleep during night you will find that morning is the time when you are most energetic and doing anything is far easier and entertaining than at any other time. In morning 1 hour of study will show you more output than 2 to 3 hours of study will yield in any other time of the day. I personally enjoy writing in morning than at any other time because it is so serene and calm in morning that you don't need to take any stress and ideas flow from your mind readily.

Ideal morning should start with praising God, breakfast and exercise but as we have little time in morning we skip all of these activities or some of them. It is a proven fact that the process of aging is rapid in those people who do not take breakfast; exercise, on the other hand, is also essential especially in morning for longevity of life; and there could be nothing more important than starting your day with praising God Almighty who has granted you a new day and all its blessings. Everybody knows this but nobody practices it, because, in morning we get up so late that we can not take out time for these things. We are already short of time and reaching workplace on proper time becomes primary so we skip these things. People who get up early have enough time to do breakfast, exercise and to take bath. They don't need to be in a hurry for the workplace. They use to enjoy 1 to 2 hours with themselves before they start completing daily responsibilities, as a result, they are much more fresh and energetic during day time and attain their goals successfully.

Starting the day on your own terms For one second think about what happens when you are late in the morning and get up on someone else's command - you feel bad, get aggressive if the other person (your sibling, mother or father) keep yelling why aren't you getting up, your mood is never good in such a situation even when you are fully awaken. Nobody likes to start a new day like this but still many of us begin our day in similar fashion and as the day advances we can not concentrate on our goals properly. There is a clear reason for this you did not started your day on your own terms and ways and you know that rest of the day is even not going to be what you wanted to be like. A happy start of the day guarantees that you will feel good throughout the day too.

Time itself makes us its prey if you do not get up early. You work like dog on command of other as you have little time to complete each goal or assignment. Those who get up early can divide day time for each of the activity according to their own choice and feel relaxed.

Confidence Getting up early gives you confidence in yourself, your potential and in time which is one of the most precious resource. You feel like you can easily take challenges and risks and will resolve any conflict, solve problems and remove hurdles that will come in your way.

Goal achievement It is a fact that early risers are better goal achievers. Many studies have been conducted so far that prove that getting up early is linked with high productivity and mental as well as physical strength.

We often can not attain short-term goals that we have to achieve the same day and we use to say that leave it for tomorrow, on tomorrow we have other tasks to do which get effected because of unattained task of the yesterday. Our productivity also diminishes when so many undone tasks are in front of us. Long-term goals on the other hand are much more effected because we can not spare time for their planning and implementation. Some times we fail in the attainment of long-term goals because we had worst planning for them. Lack of time becomes hurdle. Getting up early always help in making effective plans.

Productivity and creativity In morning productivity and creativity both are on peak as day advances physical and mental fatigue, anxiety, boredom, pressure of fulfillment of tasks and hustle-bustle of the day diminishes productivity. In early morning you find solitude and calmness which ensures greater creativity. Though not everyone feel more creative in calmness and silence but many people do.

Getting up early was and is a productivity method practiced since antiquity so it has been tested on the scale of time. Many studies have been conducted in recent years in which tasks were assigned to two groups, one group was asked to complete those tasks early morning and the other were asked to do the same in other times of the day. It has been significantly evidenced from these studies that people who accomplished tasks early morning were more productive, creative and took far less time to complete them.

Morning is the best time to get inspiration for anything related to art and literature.

A time free of any interruption Throughout the day you have to face many interruptions while you are busy in some work. These interruptions can be of various types, for example, you are working on a project very intently and the bell rang, the idea which was coming into your mind is gone or you can not develop the idea in a proper manner now; your siblings or parents started conversation and you can no longer keep the track of your work; your kids pop-out of somewhere and started making noise; even if there is no other interruption the hustle and bustle of the day time will not let you focus on the idea intently.Some tasks can be performed easily even if their is some interruption but others might require great concentration to achieve best results. Early morning is the best time to complete such tasks or to at least take start of them - a good start will even ensure success even if you complete it later in the day.

Energy wastage is reduced Energy wastage and its conservation is a big issue in recent years. Electricity especially is one of the most important necessity of life without which we can not live. At night time more electricity is consumed if you are waking and performing certain tasks on the other hand in day time we are blessed with natural light so we do not need that much lights to work. If we start thinking about this issue seriously we can save much energy by sleeping early and getting up early too.

Planning in advance The whole day you have to do so many tasks and complete so many assignments these tasks and assignments require planning . You need to have a plan in advance for what is to be done in the day and how to be done, for each task you need to have separate plan too. Planning is an important step in ensuring success of your task. You have to ask yourself many questions and answers like how many tasks I have to do today, how to do each tasks, when to start which task, how many new assignments have to be started, what are your resources, how to use these resources and what is your priority. These questions and many other like these will need to be answered before starting your day. This planning can be done successfully early morning when there is no other task or interruption and this planning will become your reason for success in life.

A time to praise and enjoy nature Morning is the best time to enjoy and praise nature and its beauties. Despite of where you live and how much your place is close to nature, morning presents its beauties everywhere. From clear horizon to dew-dipped grass and from light refreshing breeze to singing and chirping birds every aspect of nature is full of surprises for you.

It's so hard to get up in the morning in the winter when it's dark, but I've got to do it cos I need to walk my dog. After I'm out for 10 minutes the morning air has woken me up better than any tea or coffee.

I'm definitely a morning person so I agree with your points here. There's something about mornings that makes me hopeful, eager to start and incredibly motivated. I am not a morning person, but I have become one, I get up do my meditation, read a book on spiritual awareness, then I do a bit of Qigong. I keep the curtains open so I can see the beautiful sky and the tree outside, I can also hear the birds. Its all about putting your mind to do and wake up early.Thank you for a wonderful hub.

I am a morning person always have been since I was a little girl, I enjoy getting up early and doing what needs to be done, so that my evenings belong to me and my family.

I agree with you that humans were meant to be morning people as at one time light was not available at night. I love sipping on coffee in the morning and watching the sunrise as so does my energy level. Nice hub.

What a great Hub! To me is hard getting up early but I know that it is a good idea, for all the reasons you have explained very well, so I try every morning and I am becoming more and more good.

Thanks calmyourbeans for the comment. Last winter I started getting up early around 5:00 am, at first it was difficult but sooner I went outside and tasted fresh air I started feeling like I never slept and full of energy. It was a wonderful experience.
