Why Do Some of the Hubs Score Less?

I suggested HubPages to one of my friend and she joined it but after few days she said that she is fed-up of it because her HubScore do not raise above 60. I read in many of the question answers that many Hubbers complaint that their HubScore does not exceed beyond certain limit and that they think about deleting a Hub whose score is very low. When I joined HubPages my HubScore did not exceed 60 during first month (the reasons I did not know at that time but I know now). 

To understand why HubScore does not exceed for certain of your hubs you should know what HubScore is? HubScore is related to the Hubs directly. It is based on several factors and cannot be judged as a result of just one or two factors. Some of the most important factors that influence HubScore includes the following.

Quality of the Content:

Quantity matters everywhere and so do here but I have seen Hubbers who write less but of quality. Though we cannot say that if you are writing one quality Hub in a month your score can still increase: you have to write continuously to improve HubScore but quality is something more important. Many things effect quality like the originality of the content, the newness in the subject matter and the writing style.   

 Hub Traffic and its Source:

Two things are very important the traffic that comes to your Hubs and the quality of the traffic. Traffic can be low one day and high another day; it is natural so you do not need to worry about it but the source of the traffic is more important because if traffic comes from a reputable source than you are more likely to get good HubScore soon. Reputable sources usually mean organic search: when people search something on search engines like Google and they open your Hub it is called organic search. On the other hand traffic that comes from HubPages hubbers does not include in organic search as well as paid search is also not organic search.

Low Scoring Hubs:

Coming back to the topic: the low scoring Hubs and what should we do with them. Hubs that score less are usually deleted or else new Hubbers think that the HubScore is less due to low traffic. In reality in most cases the reason for low score include faulty titles, lack of genuine content, huge competition and lack of demand. These are few of the reasons that can cause your Hub to score less.

Faulty Titles: 

We often do not think about the titles but titles matter when the search engines crawl to find out useful content the first thing that matters is the title and the link of the Hub. You may write a very useful and informative article but title it in a way that does not include any keywords your Hub will get lowest ratings because the title does not suggest that there is something useful in it. 

Many of my Hubs are on poetry, in the beginning I use to give the name of poem in the title and the Hub could not have score more than 60, later I changed the title of the poetry Hubs and rather than writing "A Summer Evening"-the title of the poem- in the title of the Hub I mentioned "A Poem on Summer Evening" in the title and my HubScore improved with in single day. 

If you have some Hubs that score less do not delete them just try to improve their titles and see the result. The titles should have to be meaningful and should have less linking words. The rule for writing good titles is same as you might have learnt in your school days when you learnt how to give titles to your short stories and other writings. 

Lack of Genuine and Informative Content:

People know what is genuinely new and what is copied material so if you are writing a Hub in which most of the material has been picked up from other websites you cannot get good ranking in the search engines listings and your Hub will score less. 

If one of your Hub score less check for the genuineness of the Hub and if you think that your Hub is not genuine don't delete it just write something that you know about that topic and you will see the result. 

The content should also have something that inform about something important. Writing a very genuine Hub is not the only way to success but pair it up with informative content.

Huge Competition:

Suppose you have written a hub on Pomegranates, your Hub is both genuine and informative but still you cannot score more. The reason can be that there are more than millions of articles that have been already written on pomegranates and are better illustrated and have more traffic. Your Hub is under tough competition and it will be very difficult for it to rank high. Rather than writing on Pomegranates write on Super Fruits and write about pomegranates in it and its nutritional benefits and why it is a super fruit? That can improve your HubScore.

To check the competition that exist for any topic on which you want to write search on GoogleAdword Keyword Tool and you will get plenty of information, for example, if you write Addiction of Internet your Hub title how much competition you will go through and if you write Internet Addiction Disorder how much competition than you will have. There you will find minute details of the competition that exist in the cyber world. So it is useful to use it.   

Lack of Demand:

Finally lack of demand for any article can also cause low HubScore. You want to write on any topic that seems interesting to you may not interest the cyber consumers and in return your Hub will not score high because of low Hub Traffic but still do not delete your Hub just try to improve it the way consumers want to see it.

Some topics are classic and are always in demand, some of them are high in demand during special days and occasions and other have low and high traffic during different days. You just need to know how to improve the quality of your Hubs because there is no topic that is never searched on search engines.  

In short if your Hubs score less do not delete them just try to improve them and you will see good results soon. Keep writing!
